The BATTS 1 star junior tournament, held on 27th and 28th October, attracted young players from all over the eastern region and beyond, with 93 entries in the boys’ events and 23 in the girls’.
There were some notable performances by our own juniors during the weekend giving us great encouragement for the future.
The U18 boys event was won by Jack Anthony (Suffolk) defeating Charlie Bates (Essex) in the final. Our players James Knudsen and Luke Jones, playing well above their age group, both reached the quarter final by finishing runner up in their respective groups.
There was further success for James in the U16 event, where he won his group to reach the semi final, losing only to Samuel Horscroft the eventual winner.
A special mention here for our own players Josh Poland, who reached the final and Luke Jones who reached the semi final in the consolation event of the U16 boys.

Congratulations to our top junior boys team for their great performance at the first weekend of the Junior British League. Our BATTS A team (Jared Patel, Luke Walsh, Isaac Beevor, Alex Holland) were voted team of the weekend. Coach Sean Gibson was delighted with the team's results and effort.

BATTS in 3D......!

27 Jun 2012

BATTS was recently visited by film company 3D Experience and they shot some great footage at one of our coaching sessions. Click on the link below to see the video - you will need to skip to 5m 28secs to see the BATTS feature.  Also, if you haven't got 3D specs you will need to turn off the 3D (you can do this on the YouTube file).

The producer is Jack Ezra whose son Jet is one of our keen pupils.

A huge turnout of juniors from all over the Eastern Region descended on BATTS on Sunday 24th June for an assessment day organised by Stephen Gertsen our regional coach.
It was a highly successful and busy day, giving juniors the opportunity to be noticed for selection into one of the elite regional squads. Several of our own juniors participated in the day.
It was a very good way of christening our new tables, and more importantly showed us that we can successfully play on 14 tables in our club.
