New Coaching Structure - Meeting 11th May 2010

BATTS is in the process of modernising the club structure, and will start up a new coaching structure for next  season (2010-2011). There will be a meeting on 11th May to discuss the changes. You will be welcome from 7.30pm for a drink. The meeting will start at 7.45 and should end at around 9.30.

Progressing towards a modern club
To strengthen the club and provide a better service to the BATTS members, we are in the process of making some changes.
•    A membership structure started for juniors on the 1st February 2010. For adults the membership will start at the beginning of the season 2010-2011.
•    The BATTS website (www.batts.org.uk) was launched
•    Since the new coach has been in post, regular coaching sessions have started. The next step will be to expand the coaching sessions.

Coaching structure
Starting from season 2010-2011 BATTS will set up a new coaching structure. Sessions will be organised for different kinds of level: Beginner, Intermediate and Top Squad. The players in the Top Squad will be able to practice on three nights a week. Some of the players in the Top Squad might be invited by the Regional coach to practice with the ETTA Essex-Herts development centre which will be run as it has this season on a Wednesday night.

Beginners / Intermediate
Currently 15 Junior beginners have become members of BATTS. They practice once or twice a week. Some of the players will move on to the intermediate sessions next season. BATTS will be organising activities to bring in more new children to start playing table tennis. To establish this, a range of activities will be organised, such as table tennis in schools, BATTS open days, holiday activities, etc.

The forming of a Top Squad
On Tuesday 11th May a meeting will be held. Players and their parents who might be interested to become BATTS members and join the Top Squad are welcome. If enough players are interested in becoming a BATTS member, sessions will start at the beginning of next season.

Objectives of the meeting
•    BATTS will explain the plans for next season
•    Players, parents and other persons interested in the plans can ask questions
•    To find out whether there are enough players to start up the Top Squad in August / September 2010

Should you be interested to attend the meeting or want more information in advance, please contact Neil Brierley (secretary, 0781 4623879 ) or Aad Kwakkelstein (headcoach, 07772 123358).
