National table tennis under 11 Champion Ethan Walsh got picked to represent England in Strasbourg on the weekend of 24th August in the Mini European Championships where 164 competitors battled it out for final placings. Ethan sailed through his first group beating two boys from France and was feeling very confident - through to the next stage. Ethan progressed through each stage and remained in the main draw only losing a couple of matches - one being from a player from Russia but Ethan managed to pick himself up to carry on further in the competition. This is a fierce competition with no easy games as most competitors have been selected by their countries and lasting from the Friday to the Sunday it was tough physically and mentally. Ethan excelled himself though and ended up coming 20th overall and due to his high place he has now been invited to the European Mini Masters held in Belgium in October. Ethan attended the Mini Championships with his coach Aad Kwakkelstein who commented "I couldn't wish to coach a more enthusiastic, determined, driven player - I am very proud of Ethan"
