Lots happening at BATTS and sorry that bulletins have been as rare as England goals in the World Cup.
We've got a whole new lighting scheme being installed in the sports hall week beginning August 9th. This won't affect practice evenings which continue on Mondays, Weds and Fridays from 7pm throughout the summer including this week. We also have a new coaching structure starting in September with lots of sessions on all these days. We've also got 8 new match tables arriving in the next few weeks.
It's all change too in terms of ETTA and BATTS club membership. You need both this season.
We'll start first with ETTA membership; to play at BATTS or play in a local league from September, you will need to take out an ETTA licence which costs £5.64 for adults and £2.82 for juniors. You can do this by phone or online using the ETTA website. You will be given your licence number which makes you an ETTA member for 12 months. One payment covers you for every club and league you play at. If you play in the Harlow League, you have the option of paying £6 with your team entry and the HTTL will apply for your licence which will still cover you for all leagues. Of course those of you who play open tournaments should ignore all this and continue to take out a full player licence.
BATTS membership: we want to do away with collecting money at BATTS as far as possible and implement the scheme adopted at our recent AGM. We acknowledge the system has been confusing and everyone starts with a clean slate. We also want to make it far cheaper for those who support and use the club regularly.
So the annual fees for the  main catagories of membership which runs from 1st September until 31st August  are :
FULL MEMBERSHIP : £95 . Entitles you to come to club nights ( Mondays, Weds and Fridays from 7pm) for a full 12 months.
ADDITIONAL FEE of £20 applies if you wish to be part of a team in the Harlow Table Tennis League.
HTTL FEE ONLY : if you only want to play in the Harlow League you may pay a fee of £55.
VISITOR FEE: if you don't wish to join, you may pay a visitor's fee of £5 each time you practice.
As an added incentive, as soon as you join, the rest of this August will be free, in addition to the  12 months that follow.  A membership form with all the details is attached or you may fill in a form at the club. You need to be a member or pay the HTTL fee before you play in the Harlow League.
I also need to know asap if you intend playing in the Harlow League this season and I need a captain for Leopards as Sandy Nash would like to play but not run the team. So please reply to this email if you are or wish to be involved in league play.
I'm happy to go through any of the above next time you come along as I'm aware it may not be very clear !
